K9 Fit Club Story
K9 Fit Club is on a mission to develop a nationwide community of clubs dedicated to creating healthy lives for dogs and their people! As a young woman, K9 Fit Club’s Founder, Tricia Montgomery, was diagnosed with morbid obesity. Interestingly, so was her beloved basset hound, Louie. While Tricia was facing a declining quality of life and health due to complications related to her weight, she was determined to save her dog from the same fate. As Executive Director of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, Tricia understood the correlation between human and canine health. To save Louie, Tricia needed to formulate a diet and exercise plan to save herself. The plan worked! Louie lived a long and happy life and Tricia lost over 130 lbs. Realizing her healthy living programs would benefit others, in 2012, Tricia opened the first K9 Fit Club location in a 100 year old barn in Hinsdale, Illinois.
