On this Pet World Radio Segment we sit down with A long time friend to Pet World Insider, Dr. Patrick Mahaney. Dr. Mahaney joins us to discuss traveling with pets and his overseas experiences with pet organizations.
Enjoy this Pet World Radio Segment in case a station near you does not currently carry Pet World Radio on the EMB network!

I’m Dr. Patrick Mahaney and this is my dog Cardiff.
You can read about Cardiff in my blog as I report on my treatment of his life threatening health condition, Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA).
And, yes, I use acupuncture on my own pet. I completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) basic course (2006) and am now a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA).
I earned this certification after I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (1999) and completed an internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C (2000).
I make house calls with the emphasis on pain management through acupuncture and musculoskeletal therapy. I also advise on pet-safe environmental changes, recommend dietary modifications, prescribe medications, dispense supplements and Chinese herbs, communicate with your regular veterinarian or specialist, and provide euthanasia services (when needed).
I also work with local Los Angeles rescue organizations to help those pets that have been given a second chance to live healthier lives. I’m currently sharing my perspective on companion animal care at my National Pet Care Examiner column, Perez Hilton’s pet-centric website TeddyHilton.com, and The Daily Vet on petMD.
