We just received this great update from our friends at Just Food For Dogs. We highly recommend a trip here to see them and pick up some of the best freshly made dog food you can buy. Plus, they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful people who really care about dogs and the health of dogs!

Just Food For Dogs presents their Summer Charity Giveaway where $1,000 cash will be donated each week to selected charities benefitting pets as chosen by top local pet care providers. The giveaway will kick off on July 8 and continue for the subsequent nine weeks thereafter.
The cash amount of $9,000 will be displayed everyday at Just Food For Dogs, and customers can freely participate just by purchasing a package of dog food. For each pack of food purchased, they will get to take $1 from the display and put it in the plexi-glass box of the week to benefit the charity of the week.
Just Food For Dogs invited nine doctors to participate in the giveaway by selecting the pet charity of their choice where $1,000 will be donated in their name. The doctors of choice are Board Certified Specialists from Ontologists to Dermatologists, but they all have one combining trait—a love for animals.
Each week a card providing information on the doctor and charity of the week will be displayed next to the plexi-glass box. For customers that want to support a specific cause, Just Food For Dogs recommends loading up on dog food for that promoted week so their preferred charity will benefit.
To celebrate the end of the giveaway, an open house will take place August 26 where Just Food For Dogs will hand out all of the checks to the various charities. The celebration will include a BBQ cookout with complimentary food and refreshments.

The teams are provided at no cost to fire departments and other emergency service agencies throughout the country.
Week 5 Charity, Aug 5: Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Charity Information: The Orange County Humane Society strives to provide temporary safe refuge for the sick, injured, lost, neglected, abused and unwanted animals. They are dedicated to the relief of animal suffering, the promotion of animal welfare and the education of the local community.
Week 7 Charity, Aug 19: Newport Beach Pick a Pet Foundation – Newport Beach Animal Shelter

Charity Information: The Newport Beach Animal Shelter rescues dogs in hopes that the owners claim them, yet many never get reunited with their family. The unclaimed are adopted out to families that can provide love and security. They have the Pick-A-Pet Foundation that benefits from donations, assisting with medical treatments on animals that would be euthanized if treatment was not provided.
Week 8 Charity, Aug 26: Orange County German Shepherd Rescue

Charity Information: German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (GSROC) is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing purebred German Shepherd Dogs that have nowhere else to turn. They are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff and are funded entirely by private donations. Dogs for adoption are housed in foster homes and private boarding facilities. Their mission is that they believe that by focusing on their niche—German Shepherd Dogs—and by placing the dogs in suitable, lifelong homes, they can significantly reduce the number of animal lives that are lost in the immediate area.
Week 9 Charity, Sept 2: Orange County Pit Bull Rescue

Charity Information: Orange County Pit Bull Rescue is an all-volunteer organization working to build a community of responsible dog owners. They accept Pit Bulls from a variety of unfortunate circumstances and provide them with a second chance. Since they do not have a boarding facility, all OCPBR dogs are taken into responsible, loving foster homes. The dogs stay with their foster families until their own forever home is found. They also provide proper socialization, medical care and training to ensure successful placement in adoptive homes. Orange County Pit Bull Rescue is working to change the perception of Pit Bulls by educating the public on the history and true temperament of the breed.
